Throughout the history of the Club, boat racing and family involvement have been at its core with many boats and circuit race records held-by numerous members of the VOC. Today, outboard races are held at Lake Charm, Lake Eppalock and Lake Glenmaggie, as well as other venues within Victoria.
The VOC currently meets at the Long Beach Hotel at 7:30pm on the second Wednesday of every month, and visitors are always welcome.
All racing is conducted under the Australian Power Boat Association regulations with mandatory safety sanctioned events.
Children can start racing at 12 as you must hold a Victorian Powerboat license. The Victorian division of the APBA has two junior boats available to introduce younger drivers to the sport, so if you are interested in powerboat racing and would like to give it a go, please contact the VOC and arrange a trial.
Held at lake charm each year a huge program of circuit racing across a wide range of classes followed by an auction and social event are held after the racing has stopped with 100% of all fundraising donated to Red Nose.
The marathon event, which began in 2019, is an opportunity for individual drivers and teams to return to the more traditional form of powerboat “Trials” that the sport was founded on. It is an event that rewards consistency, planning and preparation and encourages teamwork.
